New York (Online), Los Angeles, and Boston Film Critics Announce Their 2022 Awards
Today saw the New York Film Critics Online, the Los Angeles Film Critics Association, and the Boston Society of Film Critics announcing their film awards for 2022, with some very varied results when it came to their top picks. New York gives Martin McDonagh's "The Banshees of Inisherin" its first Best Picture win, with the film also receiving Best Director (tied with Daniels for "Everything Everywhere All at Once"), Best Actor (Colin Farrell), Best Supporting Actor (Brendan Gleeson), and Best Screenplay.
Los Angeles split their top honor between "Everything Everywhere All at Once" and "Tar," with the former also sharing Supporting Performer (Ke Huy Quan), and the latter also receiving Best Director (Todd Field), Best Screenplay (Field), and sharing Best Lead Performance (Cate Blanchett).
Finally, Boston pulled a big surprise by giving Best Film to "Return to Seoul," which did not receive any other awards. Meanwhile, "The Banshees of Inisherin" won Best English Language Film, Best Actor, Supporting Actress (Kerry Condon), and Best Original Screenplay.
