Film Nominations for the 31st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards

The Screen Actors Guild has just announced their nominations for 2024, with plenty of surprises to be found. Leading the pack is Jon M. Chu's "Wicked" with an impressive five nominations, including Cast, Lead Actress (Erivo), Supporting Actor (Bailey), Supporting Actress (Grande), and Stunt Ensemble. Following close behind is James Mangold's "A Complete Unknown" with four, including Cast, Lead Actor (Chalamet), Supporting Actor (Norton), and Supporting Actress (Barbaro). Both of these films over-performed, while surprise appearances were made by Pamela Anderson and Jamie Lee Curtis in Lead and Supporting Actress for "The Last Showgirl".

Surprising snubs include "The Brutalist" for Cast, Supporting Actor (Guy Pearce) and Supporting Actress (Felicity Jones), as well as Isabella Rossellini in Supporting Actress for "Conclave". "Sing Sing" was also considerably short-changed, receiving just one nod for Lead Actor (Colman Domingo), while missing out on Cast and Supporting Actor (Clarence Maclin). Meanwhile, "Wicked" replaced assumed-nominee "Furiosa" in Stunt Ensemble.
