The Whole Gang is Back in the First Teaser for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Fans have been waiting very patiently for their first look at footage from the upcoming sequel to the extremely popular "Guardians of the Galaxy," and while a full trailer is still being put together, director James Gunn has decided to drop us a little sneak peak today in the form of a 90-second teaser trailer.

As expected, it doesn't show us very much or tell us anything about the plot, but we do get some great looks at our heroes, including Chris Pratt's Star-Lord, Dave Bautista's Drax, Rocket, and the adorably smaller Groot.

The original "Guardians of the Galaxy" still stands tall as the best Marvel film to date, featuring an excellent blend of action, an exciting storyline, and one of the most memorable band of comic book heroes ever brought to the screen. A sequel certainly has a lot to live up to, but with Gunn coming back and picking right up where he left off, I think it's safe to assume that we'll get something that lives up to the title. One thing's for sure, if this teaser is any indication, that great sense of humor from the first film will certainly be making its way into the sequel.

As Gunn mentioned, there will be a full trailer coming sometime "soon," so while we do know that the film will have something to do with Star-Lord's parentage, we'll just have to wait until then to get a better idea of what to expect.

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," which also stars Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Kurt Russell, and the voices of Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel, opens in theaters on May 5th, 2017.

What do you think of our first look at the film? Could it possibly stand up to the greatness of the first? Let us know in the comments below!
