Full Lineup for Telluride Film Festival Announced
Along with the Toronto International Film Festival and Venice Film Festival, the Telluride Film Festival has long been seen as one of the major stops on the road to awards season. With the festival's full lineup finally being announced, it looks like this year is to be no exception as there are at least a few here that have such potential. Take a look at the rather impressive list:

· REFUGEE (d. Joyce Chen, Emily Moore, U.S., 2016);
· THE WHITE HELMETS (d. Orlando von Einsiedel, U.K., 2016) · SULLY (d. Clint Eastwood, U.S., 2016) · THINGS TO COME (d. Mia Hansen-Løve, France/Germany, 2016) · THROUGH THE WALL (d. Rama Burshtein, U.S./Israel, 2016) · TONI ERDMANN (d. Maren Ade, Germany/Austria, 2016) · UNA (d. Benedict Andrews, U.K./U.S./Canada, 2016) · WAKEFIELD (d. Robin Swicord, U.S., 2016)
Once again we find Damien Chazelle's "La La Land," which recently received rave reviews from its premiere in Venice, Denis Villeneuve's "Arrival," which also received some glowing reviews of its own, and Kenneth Lonergan's "Manchester by the Sea," a film that was received very well at Sundance earlier this year. In addition, there are new documentaries from Errol Morris and Werner Herzog, as well as Clint Eastwood's new film, "Sully." Like with the other festivals, there's certainly plenty to see, and it'll be quite interesting to see if the buzz matches what we've heard about the major contenders so far. The last several Best Picture Oscar winners have been shown here (all the way back to "Slumdog Millionaire" in 2008), so there's a good chance that it'll happen again. Which one will emerge as this year's favorite? We'll just have to wait and see.
The Telluride Film Festival runs from September 2nd through September 5th.
